Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art revealed their new facade last week. The Stedelijk has been closed since 2004 for an extensive renovation that’s already estimated at a whopping 127,000,000 euro. Yes, you read that right. Despite that it won’t be ready until next year. The building went through a complete overhaul and they’re adding a second building, which will also feature the new main entrance. The new building is very contemporary as opposed to the old building which dates back to 1895. You can see some digitally rendered footage of the new building here. Just last week they’ve unveiled the new facade and we can’t wait until it opens next year to see the final result.
